Hi all,
Can someone please shed some light.
I am a British citizen currently receiving income support + disability living allowance. I recently started doing some part time work to try and get myself back on my feet & My house is fully paid for with no mortagage, loans etc.
I have a Canadian girlfriend who I have met and who has already been to the UK and stayed with me and who I am planning to go an marry in the next few months. She has worked all her life and is fully capable to work.
I have looked at the 'Spouse visa' requirements and this confuses me.
Because I am receiving money from "public fund' does this mean she will be refused the visa?
Although I get this money she doesn't need any she has ample savings.
As I have my own house if I rent this out this will give me extra income & I am also willing to sell my house if need be.
My sister has a 3 bedroom house and she says me & my wife are welcome to stay there for as long as we like.
Does the place where me & my wife live have to be in my name or can we stay at my sisters?
I am thinking if I sell my house then I will not be on income support (but I will still be on Disability living allowance-- ) and I will have plenty of money to support my wife and myself.
If I remortgage my house then I'll have some money plus the house will be in my name.
Do the requirement want me to have the money or her because she has approximately 10000 CAD in her savings.
I am totally confused.
Whats the easiest way for us to be togather here in the UK?
And how long does it take to process a 'spouse visa' these days?
thx.
