Lost EEA Residence Card. (How to prove eligibility to Work)

Post by ernestlop » Sat Mar 24, 2018 12:39 pm

Hi Everyone,

If someone can help me please because I am very confused.

I am a Non-EEA national married to a British citizen ( came here doing Surinder Singh route) and unfortunately, I have lost my EEA Residence Card and I already sent an email to the Home Office to cancel it. I know that I have to do the whole process again and give my passport and my wife's passport to get a replacement but at the moment I can't re-apply because my wife is traveling from May to June and normally the process takes 6 months. Therefore, I will apply for a replacement when she comes back at the beginning of June but in the meanwhile (from March 24 until June) how can I prove my eligibility to work in the UK.

So, my question is: How can I prove to prospective employer my eligibility to work in the UK?
Because if they(Employer) Use the Employer Checking Service and I have not reapplied for my card yet, they (Home Office) cannot issue a Positive Verification Notice.

I really appreciate any advice or help.
Thank you
