Will I need to attend a Passport Interview?

Post by jessef » Mon Mar 26, 2018 5:28 pm

Hi, not sure if this is the correct area to ask this question but I was recently granted citizenship through registration using for UKF. I have now applied for my passport and I am currently waiting to hear if it is successful.

My question is, will I need to attend a passport interview? As I have read in this forum that recently naturalised citizens do not have to attend an interview, is that just for naturalised citizens or will it apply to registered citizens too?

Sorry if this is a really stupid and obvious question, I'm just curious. Any answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think there is a hard and fast rule.
Naturalised citizens who at the same time applied for a passport don't normally attend an interview. I applied after natur. and was called for an interview. Not familiar with UKF but as you are registering it may not be necessary. However, HMPO may invite any applicant for an interview if they deem it necessary.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
