FLR(M) person wanting to travel to France

Post by Beamsley » Tue Mar 27, 2018 9:09 pm

(1) I wish to travel to France for a one week holiday. I am an Indian passport holder and have a valid Residency Permit via the FLR(M) route - my husband is a UK national and passport holder from birth. I had two Schengen visas from 2015-16 and 2016-17 and they both reference VIS ESTANCIA.

(2) The TLS website states "Personal appearance is mandatory, except :
for children below 12 years;
if you have a biometric Shengen visa with the mention of VIS issued within 59 months."

(3) When I submitted my data online via the TLS website, it has said the next step is to "Deposit your application at the TLScontact center" which contradicts (2).

- Does anyone know if I do have to make an appointment to submit the application and documents in person?

Visiting the Edinburgh office would mean a 12hr+ round trip and I have a job and a young daughter to care for so this would be extremely difficult. Add to that, the £100+ train ticket.

Since your biometrics are in the database, you don't have to deposit your application yourself.

Either you or a 3rd party has to take your application and hand in the documents.
A third party can be for instance a travel agency.

You do no have to go in but your documents must be taken there and as far as I know, mailing is not an option.
