Parents visiting UK - Travel Insurance Coverage amount?

Post by tulipz » Fri Mar 30, 2018 9:50 pm

Hi,
My parents got their UK visitor visas today !! I'm overjoyed!

Please can anyone tell me how much coverage is reasonably adequate for 65 yr olds (in good health - touch wood!) ? Is USD 30000 good enough? They will be visiting me for just over 5 months.

Does anyone here have first hand experience of "using" travel insurance? if yes, please can you tell me which company you used and what your experience was like?

I'd like to buy insurance for my parents so that there is a cover in case of emergencies. Some policies I looked at are absolute horror (a 50k policy with 12k limit per illness. That wont cover - will it! )

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
