Mistake in a BRP and lengh of stay

Post by Alex11 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 11:50 am

I have received a BRP on T1 Ent route 2 years ago.. the length of stay on this route should be exactly 3 years.

It seems that there is a mistake in my BRP, as the DATE of Issue is 25-05-2016 and Valid Until is 05-05-2019

so 20 days less.. looks like a mistake? or could it be because I had to resubmit my application when initial application was made and that was already after my previous BRP had already expired. However I guess it is most likely a mistake.

Do I need to inquire HO about that? Could I possible have problems when applying for extension or ILR in the future because overall the period would be less than 5 years, like 4 years and 11 months, because of this..

Thanks

Visa should be three years from date of grant, which may or may not be the same as the date of issue of BRP. What was the date on the approval letter ?
Yes, you could potentially have a problem with ILR if you approval date is 25/5 and only if your extension is approved before 24-05-2019. i.e if you apply on 4/5/19 and get the extension approved under 20 days, then yes. Very unlikely situation.

The date of the approval letter is 05-05-2016, so Valid Until date is exactly 3 years later.

Does this mean I can disregard the 'Date of Issue' on the card?

and just apply within a month before the current leave expires, so effectively starting from 05-04-2019

and consider that as a full 3 year period.

Thanks
