Frequent travels after ILR

Post by adi27 » Fri Apr 06, 2018 5:34 pm

Hello,
I'm currently on Tier2 Gen and will be applying for ILR soon. After getting ILR, I might have to make frequent travels in and out of UK with few trips extending up to 8-12 months. So my stay in UK would be short but stay away might be very long. I understand that one cannot stay beyond 24 consecutive months, but will it be a problem for my case? I do not have any intensions of staying away for more than a year. Will it be a problem during the immigration checks?

Kindly advise.

Regards
Adi

No, as you are no longer under Immigration control.

You would be subject to the Returning residents provisions. You should return for the purpose of settlement each time and within 2 years.
