Applied online on 22/2 but received an email today????

Hi

I applied online for a spouse visa on 22/2 but received an email today. Does this mean it'll take 12 weeks from today onwards for them to give me an answer.

If documents are not received a decision will be taken on the basis on the information that has been provided.

Please note that UKVI aims to complete all Visit Visa applications within 15 working days and all Settlement Visa applications within 12 weeks of the application date.

Same happened to me. I applied on the 8th of March and received this kind of email 5th of April. I don't know how to understand this either.

Exactly same happened to us as well, applied on 13/02 and received confirmation email yesterday i.e. 09/04.
Although we missed out Appendix 2 form which we sent over last month but not sure if our ticking clock will start from the day we received email or when we applied

I got this same email today. I applied on 5th March for my wife and biometrics done on 14 March.

We don't need to worry as it's a standard response sent out as and when the authorities get around to it.

Some people never get an acknowledgement.

Before they were sending the similar email the next day after the documents receipt. Still, fingers crossed, that our documents are moving.

the time frame start from the day you've got biometric date, 30 working days for priority and 60 workings days for standard visa application , so don't worry about when you receive email for acknowledgement

Did you also receive the signed applications form and appendix 2 back?

I got everything back as I posted originally. I thought they keep the signed form and appendix 2.

They scan everything in Sheffield, so most likely it is expected to have all documents back. They may keep / disregard excess documents such as call logs etc to make it easily to pack and post back to you.

A lot of people unnecessarily send an extra set of photocopies.

Yes, everything which we sent however I haven't gone through individual documents after reading cover note by HO. Please let me know if you want to ask anything else.

No, I didn't receive any other emails. Maybe they wanted to send you decision was made email. Who knows all their shadow practices...

I don’t think there is any need to contact them, just to spend good money for the atrocious service. We should just be patient and wait.

I have received my decision email today

Hi All,

Thanks to god my wife got the visa. She received the text message The processed visa application for GWF reference number xxxxxx- was received at the UK Visa Application Centre on 5/7/2018, yesterday. She also received a phone call from vfs shortly after and later on in the day received an email from vfs confirming the same thing.

My wife collected the passport today and the visa is valid from 10/05/19 - 09/06/19. All in all it was about 36 working days for the decision to be made from the date of biometrics.

Going through this process was really tough, but God grants patience to whom he wills. I sincerely pray for everyone who is still waiting to hear back that God make it easy for you and relive you from such test. Ameen

Same deal - but more extreme. Got that email on 9 May but applied 15 Feb - so we are in week 11 of the 12 week guideline period! Documents not yet returned ... Anyone beat that?
FYI, my wife is Russian, we applying from Singapore ...
In week 5 we got an email saying they hadn't got our supporting documents. It turns out I'd made a mistake on the GWF reference number. Of course, we rectified immediately (by phone and letter). UKVI promised to update us about if they'd be found within 15 days, but of course, didn't ...

Yes, judging by our experiences, the confirmation email is sent the day they finish scanning and send your documents back (so you will probably receive them back the same or next day). So depending on if you go priority or not, you could be sitting there waiting for two or more weeks from sending your documents to Sheffield with no confirmation other than recorded delivery from the post office (if you went with that).

We really hope that's our case - fingers crossed! Today we got it's "going to be late" notice - which I suppose figures as 60 days ends next week.
