T2 to unmarried partnership

I'm looking to switch from my current T2 to unmarried partnership (we have been living together 5 years) and know i am eligible. My switch is primarily linked to freedom to work and not be tied to a sponsor. I also understand switching will mean my time spent on T2 will reset to year 0.

Question:
A. If we decided to get married do i have to switch from unmarried partner visa to spouse visa?
B. Would my time time spent on unmarried partner visa be reset once we marry (on spouse)?
C. If we married e.g. 1.5 months into partnership visa, what happens? do i have to apply for spouse? can i just renew the unmarried partner visa?
