Post by dhruv4500 » Sun Apr 15, 2018 6:22 pm

Hi,
I am self employed and director of my company(50% shareholder).
While filling the naturalization application in section's:
Q1: 1.45 -(What is your occupation) should i mention company director or self employed?.If i mention as
'company director' what documents do i need to submit ?
Q2: 1.49 -(Tax reference number) is this my NI number or Company UTR number?

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion, you can put either or both as long as you pay your tax. Statement of tax from inland revenue will do.
It is company UTR number

Hi,

Similar is the case with my husband. We are applying for naturalisation. He owns a company which was formed recently in April 2018 so his company's tax returns hasn't been paid yet. In this case which Tax reference number he should use?

Thanks in advance!

I was in a similar situation, where my company was only 4 months old when I applied for naturalisation.

I used the company's UTR; ensure that you attach the original letter from HMRC along with the certificate of incorporation when you submit your completed application.
