Varying FLR (FP) to FLR (M)

Post by Jobotin » Tue Apr 17, 2018 7:26 pm

Hi there,

I have recently varied my application from an FLR (FP) to an FLR (M) following my marriage to my partner.

I applied for the FLR (FP) on February 2nd 2018 and sent my variation to FLR (M) on April 6th 2018.

I know that I meet all of the requirements and have provided the documentation that has been asked for by the application form (and then some).

I have two questions around this change:

1) I understand that the FLR (FP) can take up to 12-18 months at the moment according to a very expensive immigration solicitor I have spoken to. However she did say that when we varied our application that our application would be moved from the (FP) pile to the (M) pile and would at this point be subject to the (M) turnaround times of 6-8 weeks. Considering that they have already taken payment again for the variance and that biometrics were already done whilst the Home Office were considering the (FP) form, should we expect a response in the next 6-8 weeks?

2) We are concerned that although the application has clearly been received and opened as payment has been taken, we are yet to receive any letters about our variance; confirming etc etc. Could anyone who has gone through this process before shed any light on this for me please?
