Historical driving offence

Post by mamin » Fri Apr 20, 2018 4:55 pm

Hi,

I have an old driving offence (speeding on a motorway) which I went to court for in England. I was given a fine of £300 and a 3-week disqualification. This was way back in June 2006.

I'm now applying for naturalisation and while filling in the form realised that I'd forgotten to declare the conviction during my ILR application last year which was successful, as this was so far back

When I declare the conviction on my naturalisation application, will that effect my application in any way?

as this is already 12 years ago and not a custody conviction, I think you will be fine.

Unlike ILR, you should declare everything. But I believe this one should not affect your naturalisation.
