Delayed citizenship application

Post by MehreenNajeeb » Fri Apr 20, 2018 5:52 pm

Hi,
My husband was on tier 2 work visa. Last year he got ILR on 3rd November 2017. His British passport will be due on 3 November 2018. I just want to ask that can he delay his application for about a month? Is it fine or it may create some complications in the application later?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Your husband can apply for British Citzenship any time after he qualifies, or not at all if he chooses. Be aware however that he will only be entitled to a British passport once his application for Citizenship has been approved and he has attended his Citizenship ceremony. This can take 6 months or in some cases, longer.
