if a person was to apply for Portugese or Italian Citizenship through marriage, living abroad. Now both countries have not any time set to be living in the respective countries, but spouse can apply for citizenship after 3 years in both cases. which of the countries do you think has an easier process to get through this and why?

Italian citizenship takes long time. The law sets a maximum time of 2 years to accept or reject the application but since it’s the Italian embassy of the country where the applicant lives to process the application, if you live in a country where the embassy is busy (for example the UK) it can take 3-4 years.
