ILR continuous residence rules for spouse of UK citizen?

Hi, I was reading about the January 2018 changes to the continuous residence rules for ILR applicants, where an applicant cannot be absent from the UK for more than 180 days during any 12 month period in the continuous period. Do these rules apply for a spouse of a UK citizen applying for ILR using SET(M)? I don't seem to find any mention of such rules, but am seeking clarification. Thanks!
