Set (M) form and severance pay

Post by Elseybee » Mon Apr 23, 2018 2:16 pm

Hi all,

I’m helping my husband with an ILR application form - what a nightmare! I’ve read the guidance about 20 times, so many things are unclear. I tried the helpline and they told me ‘we can’t give you any definite answers’!?! Actually they didn’t give me any answers. Thanks so much, £2300 fee and all they do is put me on hold for 20 minutes and tell me that. It’s amazing.

So, my situation is that my husband’s salary is pro rata, meaning that his actual salary is slightly under the requirement. I am currently unemployed so my understanding is I can’t use my income from the last year. Is that right?

Also I was wondering if I can use my severance pay from last October as ‘other income’, section C. But I can’t find any info on this.

Could anyone help me?

Many thanks
