Time spent outside the UK during spouse route visa

Post by MusFatim » Mon Apr 23, 2018 8:03 pm

Hi

Could someone please help.

I came in the UK on a student dependant visa in 2010. After my husband was granted ilr I applied for a 5 years family dependant spouse route. I got visa then and received 30 months visa. Now i want to apply for extension but in last 2.5 years i spent 9 months in one go outside the uk but my husband remained in the U.K. to save money to buy our own home. He has bought it and we are living together. Is there any problem to get extension?

Thanks

There shouldn't be an issue with this, providing you can show that your relationship was subsisting during your time away. and that you were in regular contact.

No earlier than 28 days before the expiry date of your current visa. If you apply too early you will have a shortfall for ILR and will need an additional visa extension.

Edit: Is your date of May 10th 2018 correct? If so, you only have 10 days left to apply before your visa expires :!:
