Removal of 60 days employment rule for Tier 2 to ILR route

Post by Ometz » Mon Apr 23, 2018 8:48 pm

Hi,

I got my first Tier 2 visa on 8th July 2013. Then I lost my job on 31 January 2015 and started a new job on 2nd March 2015 (The employment gap of 32 days). Until now I thought that I have to wait until 8th July 2018 to apply for ILR, but after seeing that a new rule has introduced which says
"removes the Tier 2 rule covering gaps in employment of 60 days"

I know I am eligible to apply for ILR 28 days before my 5 years continuous employment period. Does it mean that I am eligible to apply for ILR after 10th June 2018 as it is 28 days before my 5 years continuous employment period finish, Or I have to wait 32 days more after 10th June 2018 to cover the gap between employments??

Cheers
Ometz

The gap does not matter. Apply within 28 days of completing the 5 years
