Good evening everyone,
I have been researching this topic for quite a while now and couldn't find any definitive answers, so I decided to try my luck here.
My situation is this:
- I'm a Latvian citizen who have been living in the UK for the past 7 years.
- My wife is Russian and we have known each other for a little less than a year and have just married in Latvia; now I want her to move over to the UK with me.
- We decided to take the EEA Family Permit route and I was wondering if you could clarify some things for me.
The questions are as follows:
- Along with the documents my wife is taking to the UK Embassy in Russia and a certified copy of my Latvian passport, do we need to enclose a certified English translation of my Latvian passport?
- Does the Latvian Wedding Certificate need to be apostilled before submission to the Embassy?
- Since we're newlyweds, what evidence should we provide to avoid being considered a marriage of convenience? I'm thinking of enclosing flight tickets from all our trips + wedding photos. Will that suffice?
- To prove that I'm a qualified person in the UK, is providing payslips from my current job going to be enough? Thing is, I only work part time + make music on YouTube, which is my main source of income (and although I'm registered as self-employed I don't get any financial documents from them - attaching my PayPal receipts might work perhaps?).
