travelling outside uk on tier 4 student visa

Can a student on tier 4 visa travel outside UK frequently? Is any permission required to do that? How long one can stay outside UK?

You can travel as you wish. Your Tier 4 visa allows you to re-enter the UK to continue your studies.

Your travel is only limited by the attendance requirement of your course.

Attempting to re-enter the UK with your Tier 4 visa after your studies have already ended is never a good idea, but there are several existing topics about that.
