I am a UK citizen and my wife is from the USA. We married in 2015 and we applied successfuly (thanks to help from this forum) for a spouse visa and she moved here in December 2015.
My wife's visa expires in August 2018 and we will be applying to renew this as soon as we can.
My wife works as a teacher for a UK based language school and has been offered an oppertunity to teach in China, either for a two month period May-June 2018 or a 3.5 month period September to December.
The best of these options is the longer one in September, but it is likely to overlap with the renewal process for her spouse visa.
I live and work in the UK and will not be travelling with her. She will be working in china on behalf of a UK based company, she will be paid a portion of her wages in yuan in China, and the rest by her UK employer.
- Will either of these options negatively imapact her spouse visa renewal?
- If she applys for her China work permit prior to sending in her passport for her UK spouse visa renew, will it's presence in her passport cause a problem?
- Will being paid by the school in China for a period of her stay mean she is technically not employed in the UK even though she is going on behalf of her UK employer?
- Any other thoughts on how this China trip might impact us given her UK immigration status?
