Tier 2 Visa extension

Hi Friends,

Currently I am holding Tier 2 Visa which will be expired on 31.10.2018 .I would like to know about the following w.r.t.extension of my Tier 2 visa with the same organization where i am currently working-

Question 1 :- How early I can able to apply for Tier 2 extension ?
e.g.Would it be possible to apply for extension in June'18/July'18.

Question 2 :- Can i visit my home country(outside UK) before applying for Tier 2 visa extension ?
Is their any rule which states about any restriction for going outside UK with in
any time frame ?
E.g. Can't go outside UK within 3 month before expiry of current Tier 2 visa.

yes. But is it necessary?

Yes. no restriction.

No.

No. but of course you better come back before visa expired.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
I am unable to find any clause related to all about from UKVI webportal.
Do they have any link or statement about these rules.
