SPOUSE VIGNETTE WORDING

Post by debooy2 » Wed May 02, 2018 8:00 pm

Evening experts,

Please can someone please help with the wording use on spouse settlement visa vignette.

Should it have "spouse" or "partner" written on it.

We applied for spouse settlement visa.

Thanks

A quick Google Image search gives this.

Also, looks like a very useful blog site for non-EEA citizens marrying British citizens - Love my Brit.

IS "D PARTNER" THE RIGHT WORDINGS ON SPOUSE VISA?

Post by debooy2 » Thu May 03, 2018 8:16 am

Thank you. I have seen that one. I guess I need recent applicants who have been granted to let me know the correct endorsement.

We applied as spouse and it says "D PARTNER" on vignette. I think it should be "spouse"

So can resent applicant share what they HAVE on their vignette

Thanks

Could you clarify why the wordings on the vignette is so important to you? In any case, the BRP may have different wordings.

I've been granted visa 9th April. Vignette valid from 11th April to 11th may. It says the same "D partner" whereas we are married.

All the recent ones I've seen are with "D partner" and advise been given to collect BRP after arriving in UK. If BRP is printed with partner it should get corrected. I haven't looked for official guidance about this, so for now will travel with this vignette and will see what's printed on BRP.

My wife also received her passport today with visa vignette and it mentions D-PARTNER (STANDARD) and then my name next to it in Capitals as the husband. I also applied for a spouse settlement visa.

At the bottom underneath obsrv.
Work permitted
No public funds.

Compared to the google image I believe this may be a new layout now.

This is normal since April 2018, Pre April it would say Spouse/CP

I think alot of BRP recently under "type of permit" state "Leave to Enter" and nothing else.
