Applicant passport copy

Hi everyone

Quick question regarding our spouse visa application.

The applicant's passport was taken during the TLS Contact meeting, which is standard practice.

However, is it an obligation to attach a copy of the applicant's passport with the submitted documents? I assume that they have the real passport, so it's not really mandatory?

Can the application be refused or delayed if a copy isn't provided?

The same thing happens to me my husband subnit his passport at vfs they scan it also i submit document in the uk and i didnt send copy of applicant passport wih document cause it thought it wasnt mandatory. Just a for a piece of mind i send copy of applicant passport on friday with a cover letter.
