Hello everyone, i am from commonwealth country (Ghana) and i have applied to join the Royal Navy when the application was open a year back.
I have gone through recruiting stages.(taking the psychometric test, medicals, fitness text and interviews) all taking within 4 months. I was on 6 months Visiting Visa, which was expiring in 17 March 2018 and my Initial training date was 24th April 2O18 so was advised my Navy Career Officer to apply for Visa extension at the home office in order to be legal here till the start of my initial training which the Ministry of Defense will take the cost and give me an exemption status.
I called the Home office and they told me i should apply for set HRO, i applied on 1st March and got Biometric on 8 March and did it the same day and submitted. Since then, i have not hear anything from them,
I have called my Career Office about the situation and their respond was like, they have been barred from contacting the Home Office and that i should keep my figures cross and a new starting date will be giving when the Home Office grant me that extension. The UK visa customer service keep giving me conflicting information, some say i should redraw my application and apply for FLR FP cuz the set HRO might take longer.
MY QUESTION...Please has anybody applied to join the UK forces and extend his Visiting Visa before Initial training , What APPLICATION FORM he/she used and How long it took to get his passport back.
Again, please, whats the probability i will be granted the extension in order to get a new date for training.
My Life has been put on hold by this home office people, and am really worried ..PLZ, ANYBODY WITH AN ADVICE , SUGGESTION OR EXPERIENCE SHLD PLZ ASSIST..Thank you all
