Hi all. I am clear investment in residential properties for rental, or renovating residential properties for capital gains is not eligible, but need help on the eligibility of investment on hotel or b&b.

If, say, b&b business costs 500k, 100k goodwill, 400k freehold and equipment. Will 400k count to 200k requirement?

Are you planning to buy a B&B ? Does the 400K go to the previous owners ? If, so then it would not count.

Think about it like this: You must buy the business first then invest. Whatever you invested AFTER your purchase generally will count
