Ancestry Visa Dependent Questions- FLR(IR)

Hello all,

I am currently living and working in the UK under an ancestry visa. My unmarried partner (who I've lived with for the last 3 years) is also living and working here under a youth mobility visa, which will expire in about 10 months.

Therefore we are looking to get her as a dependant on my ancestry visa, although we are finding the forms quite confusing of how to fill out.

My understanding is she fills out the FLR(IR) form and provide supporting documentation. This form seems designed to be filled out when both parties (ancestry visa applicant and dependent) are applying at the same time so I am not sure how it should be filled for our situation. Should I treat it as I am filling out the paperwork for a new visa with my partner as a dependent?
For the FLR (IR) form I am confused who would fill out each section

- Section 1- does my girlfriend fill out this section as she is the one applying for a new visa? Or do I fill it out since home office would need to know who her sponsor is.
- Section 2 - "Dependents who are also applying" - this info would relate to my partner, even though I am not "applying"?

Then we would both send in our passports and BRP cards?
