Bank balance required for sponsored visit visa

Post by June80 » Sun May 13, 2018 5:33 pm

Hi All,

I am a British citizen and would like my mum who lives in India to visit me in the UK. I will be sponsoring her visit and will submit my bank statements and payslips as supporting documents. My mum has been to the UK three times in the past. She doesn't own any property in India and doesn't have a job but she has family ties there as she lives with my sister and we have been showing that as a proof of her returning to India. She also had a fixed deposit of Rs 10 lakh and a monthly income of Rs 6,000 from it but now she doesn't have that fixed deposit. She only has Rs 1 lakh in her savings account and there is no regular income. There are also no significant outgoings from her account since my sister takes care of her expenses. Although I am completely sponsoring her visit, I am not sure if her not having any investment or property would present a problem? What is the minimum bank balance she should have? Many thanks in advance for any advice.
