Hello Forum,
I have just joined the forum and this is my first post. My wife (currently on FLR(M)) is within weeks of being able to apply for ILR. She is yet to appear for Life in the UK test. Her FLR(M) visa/BRP is in here maiden name (as it appears on her Indian passport). Proof of address (including her bank account and driver's license) is in her married name (First name is the same but middle and family name has changed).
Having looked through Life in the UK test registration requirements, while she can prove her identity in maiden name using here passport but there is no proof of address to go with it (Driver's license in married name). This leaves with one alternative:- to use her driver's license to for ID proof and address. This would result in Life in the UK test pass letter issued in her married name.
My question is: will a Life in the UK test pass letter with applicant's married name be accepted as valid if the application of ILR (SET M) is made in applicant's Maiden name? There is no UK marriage certificate to prove the link between Maiden and married name.
I can really do with some valuable guidance from this very helpful platform.
Thanks and Regards,
