Finance support- Bit of a pickle

Post by qa101 » Mon May 14, 2018 3:29 pm

Hi All,

Just have a query on the financial back up. I got married 2 weeks ago and am just finalising my paperwork for submission. I'm a British citizen and the Mrs is Moroccan.

I started contracting in February this year and am the director of a limited company and prior to this have been in full time employment (no break in employment). I pay myself a salary as PAYE of £40k a year pre tax and have taken £4k of dividends since Feb. Given i have not been in operation for over 1 year i cannot complete the annual tax return as part of the submission to the home office.
(i will have 3 payslips from my previous permanent employment and 3 payslips from being the director of my limited company. Will this suffice?)

Has anyone else been in this situation or can offer any advise?
Would i need to wait a full year till i can apply for my wifes visa?
Given i am on PAYE would i fill out the form as being self employed or salaried employed?

Any advise and guidance would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
A
