Uk spouse visa Cash savings Clarification using ISA account

Post by Geraldine » Tue May 15, 2018 4:52 pm

Hello, please I'd appreciate if I can be provided with further information.
I applied for my spouse visa to the UK and unfortunately was refused. My husband used Rental and stock/investment in an ISA account(as cash savings for the proof of income after carefully reading the requirements.
The Eco stated that the rental income is acceptable but the ISA account isn't, as there is no proof the he has immediate access to the fund.
I am confused because proof of the ISA account statement was provided,
please is there a specific evidence that needs to provided with regards to the using ISA account??

Not all ISA accounts have instant access to funds as they are usually stocked away in some sort of investment.

If you can post your refusal letter, taking out personal information, it will give us a better idea under what grounds they have refused to be satisfied with your financial docs.

I have a similar situation and this discussion does not make sense to me. Of course an ISA has investments, in fact cash ISA'a don't even exist any more. But the rules say that stocks can be used as evidence of "Assets" so holding them in an ISA, with a regulated organisation, would be the best way to have ready access. If I want cash from my ISA and instruct the provider online to sell shares and put the money in my bank account I have the money in 3 days. If I hold a share certificate it would take at least a week so if stocks are acceptable the most ready access is in an investment account. But I'm also being told that I have to move the money from my ISA to my bank account which doesn't make sense either as if stocks are acceptable then why should i have to sell them?
