If Your BRP Hasn't Arrived, and You Used Premium Service Centre

Post by JimW » Thu May 17, 2018 11:08 am

Hi, just want to share my BRP delayed experience, hope it can help someone. I will basically layout my timeline, and a short comment on the event. I am applying for a TOC, that would not be different from any other leave type, as once your decision is made, everything else should be the same for TOC\ILR\NTL etc.

20/04/2018 - Attended PSC at Solihull.
  • It took me 4-5 hours there, from 13.30 to 18.00. Please note the time as I will mention it below.
04/05/2018 - 10 working days past, reporting online.
  • In the mean time, I constantly check with DX to see if they have a delivery for me, unfortunately no.
14/05/2018 - getting reply from BRP Team.
  • In the reply, it says 'referred to caseworker', and I have to contact my PSC. The reporting system is basically designed for shutting you up for an another week, no help at all. However, I have seen people getting reply saying their BRP has been delivered by DX. In that case, you should report your BRP is lost. And I have seen people getting 'delayed due to machine error', in that case, you should simply wait. When I say wait, it means that the BRP is being made, and it will come to you very soon, so you don't have to worry about it any more.
15/04/2018 - Did not want to wait for the caseworker, headed to PSC at Solihull.
  • Well, at least I will have someone to talk to me face to face. When I arrived there, I gave the security my decision letter and explained why I came. Remember to be calm and kind, don't show anger, or the security will just kick you out. Finally, a very nice lady, seems to be someone in charge, came out and said,'Sorry, due to IT error, the caseworker did not send the BRP request. It has been sent now, you will receive it 7-10 days.'
17/05/2018 - Got an email from DX saying my BRP is on the way.
  • Obviously Home Office noticed the bad performance of DX, and made DX send an email once your BRP is on the way. At the time writing this post, I have not received my BRP, but if I don't receive it today, I will update here. If you don't see me updating, that means it arrived.
To sum up, if you live in a big city (I live in Oxford), your card will get to you 2-4 days after getting a decision at the PSC. If you don't receive it in 10 days, and DX don't have anything for you, just go to PSC and ask POLITELY no matter how mad you are, and remember to ask for a contact number if anything else happens. Remember I said my decision was made at 18.00? At 18.00, the BRP Team is off duty, and all request sent after this time will not be processed. If your caseworker is good enough to request it next morning, you are all good. If your caseworker forgot it, well.... you have to go through the pain.
