Help please

Post by Lizzylou » Thu May 17, 2018 11:29 pm

Good evening ,
I’m in a bit of a pickle. My Algerian boyfriend if 3 and a half years is illegally in this country and has been for 18 years, he works and pays taxes but under a false name , we would like to get married and live like any other couple but this is hanging over us!
We’re not getting any younger I’m 48 and he’s 43, I love him to bits but I’m so scared of the situation that were in in . He entered the country via France with false Id in 2000 and gas used that for work and doctors ,
His mum died recently and it was awful as he could not be there for her because of the situation. Please I really don’t know what we can do can someone advise me please?
Many thanks 😁

I assume you are asking about regularising his stay in the UK, not the two of you moving to Algeria. Either way, I recommend professional immigration advice.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

Hi,
Thanks for replying, I would like to know about the possibility of him staying in the uk. He’s spent almost half of his life here.

I know a couple where the husband had been illegal in the country and kept getting rejection for his spouse visa. A solicitor advised him to go back to India and apply from there. His spouse Visa was granted in 3 months.

Suggest you seek professional advice but the difference in their case is that they were married.

You’ll have to probably get married too to follow suit but again better advice would be via solicitor.

They are expensive but you should call up at least 10 before deciding who to go with. My friends solicitor cost him £800. I’d say keep a budget of £2000 at least.

Good luck

Thanks for replying ,
We want to get married but he has no id , so it will be difficult also wouldn’t the register office pick up on him being illegal? That worries me getting into trouble. 😞

Your partner has done something that isn’t legal. Anyone in this forum would not be able to help with a case that requires legal advice and representation. From the messages you’ve left, it’s a complicated case and the Home Office won’t show much sympathy to someone who has remained in the UK illegally.

As others have mentioned, If you are looking to continue with your partner, find a good lawyer that can help resolve the issue. An online forum isn’t specialised enough for your circumstances.

Good luck to you both.
