Immigration for spouse and children

Post by PedroAsani » Fri May 18, 2018 9:58 pm

British-born UK citizen, currently US Green Card holder. Married to US citizen, have two children. C is 5, stepchild, US citizen not yet adopted by myself. R is 2, US citizen to myself and spouse.

Spouse needs to go through the residency and naturalization palaver when we move to the UK. Fair enough.

If I adopt C before we move to the UK and start my spouses residency, is citizenship conferred? What does it fall under? 3(2), 3(5) or something else?

What is R current citizenship status? Can I apply for their UK passport without blocking them from passing UK citizenship on to their children?
