I am anticipating my HSMP approval by 20th April and EC by end of the month. I am currently employed in India with a very good salary and stable life
While my seach for jobs in UK have gone unsuccessul, I am seeking help in knowing how one can ensure a job before entering the country. I feel this is a safe option owing to cost of living and prior commitments in the home country.
Someone, please guide me.

You might want to think extremely carefully before you consider a move here in the current climate. The credit crunch is really starting to bite and massive job cuts are in the offing. If I were you and had a good job in India, I would hang on to my HSMP approval but wait atleast 6 months to see how things pan out..
Here is an article on the situation in the financial sector
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.j ... ity113.xml
As the article explains, the reason why we have not seen significant job cuts yet is due to the bank's reluctance to axe staff who they might have difficulties rerecruiting later on. However, financial institutions are increasingly coming to the conclusion that things are as bad as they were in 1929 (or even worse) and therefore its only a matter of time before the cull starts..
