Country of Residence mistake

Post by yuldo » Tue May 22, 2018 2:38 pm

Hi everybody, here is my issue, hope somebody can help:

I was offered a job in the UK and received the Certificate of Sponsorship, but there was one problem: they had mistakenly entered my country of residence as the USA, whereas in fact I have legally lived and worked outside of the USA for several years. Everything else was correct, including my (non-US) home address. So, my question is can I ask my future employer to append an online note to my Certificate of Sponsorship noting the mistake and my true correct country of residence? The problem here is that the new April 2018 guidance (https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... l_v1.0.pdf) seems to imply at 29.43 -29.45 that sponsor notes can only be used to amend salary and start/end date. So I'm afraid my application might be rejected.

Does anybody have recent (ie post April 2018) experience with amending Certificates of Sponsorship by using sponsor notes? Any advice on what to do??

I think it shouldn't be an issue to use sponsor notes in this case - I've had wrong country of birth in the certificate and my sponsor just added a note.

Even I suggest the same.
To be absolutely sure....Ur sponsor can write to ukvi help desk (via sponsorship management system) and get it confirmed by them. I know they will reply in a day or two
