Tier 2 employer switch

Post by Tolux » Tue May 22, 2018 8:36 pm

Hello guys,
Please I'm in a fix on how to go about this.

I am on Tier 2 visa valid till 3/6/2019, although my contract expires 10th December.

Scenario 1.

I have a new job that will commence February with a different employer..

Considering the 2 month gap between end of contract and the start of a new one, how do I ensure I am within the legal boundaries

Scenario 2.

I could defer the new employment till August next year, however my visa would have expired by then, if I get a new CoS, let's say by May 2019, will I still be able to keep myself within the role of law?

Thanks.

Although your contract ends in December, since your visa is valid till June next year, you might have just enough time to make another application before the visa is curtailed. Scenario 1 more likely. You can apply for another visa with a new employer in December even if your start date is February.
if you have secured another job to start in February, then complete your current contract in December and immediately make an application for the new job.

Scenario 2 is not a good idea because your visa might be curtailed anytime from December.
