My passport expiry date entered wrongly on my COS

Post by Crosz » Wed May 23, 2018 9:36 pm

Hello. Please can someone help urgently.
My COS was issued and I noticed that my work start date and end date were entered wrongly on my COS; my employer corrected it using the Sponsors note. Now I noticed that my passport expiry date is entered wrongly. What does my employer do now. How can they correct this mistake. Can it even be corrected. Do they need to apply for another CoS from Home Office and issue it or is there a way they can still assign this same one to me. I have not applied for my visa yet.

Please waiting for answers

If you have not submitted your application, they might still be able to add sponsor note

Hello @djsuccess, wouldnt a wrong passport expiry date count as s significant error. I dont know but can you amend a significant error using the sponsor note.

Hello, I am not entirely sure. If you are in doubt and haven't submitted, you can ask your employer to issue you another COS.
According to the guidance
You must cancel a CoS and assign a new one if you have made a significant error such as:
 the SOC code is wrong
 you have assigned it under the wrong tier or category
 you have given wrong details for more than one of the below:
o the migrant’s nationality
o the migrant’s date of birth
o the migrant’s surname

I am not sure if wrong expiry date for passport will be seen as significant.

I told them my employer and they just added a sponsor note correcting the passport expiry date. Im hoping they know the rules and don't think that it is a significant error.
