Hi everyone,
I got a spouse visa 2.5 years ago and now am applying for extension for another 2.5 years under 5 year route. The first time I applied I was refused because of my expired IELTS English certificate, so I re-applied with my new certificate and succeeded. I was on Tier 4 at that time so got time to re-apply. They have made some changes to the form which are really confusing, please could anyone help me.... thank you so much
(1) SECTION 2 - 2.2 Is this the first time you have applied for a visa or extension of stay in one of the above
categories (including previous leave granted as a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner) with your
current sponsor? This is my first extension of the same visa so should I say YES? But I applied twice to get the first 2.5 years so should I say NO? I don't quite get the purpose of this question.
(2) SECTION 13C - CHILDREN - I was pregnant when I first applied and now my daughter is 2 years old, she is British from birth. They have added to the form requirements for details/documents of children even when they are not applying.
+ Birth certificate - including children not applying with you and not subject to immigration control --> Ok, no prob, I can provide it.
+ Passport or BRP if you have dependant under 18 even if they are not included in the application -> Ok, I can provide this
+ Evidence of where your child/children normally lives and that you and/or any partner play an
active role in their upbringing. This evidence should be dated within the last 3 months and
can include: .... -> Is this relevant in my case? They don't repeat "even if they are not included" so is it only for children who apply for a visa?
(3) DUTY TO STATE ALL REASONS TO REMAIN IN THE UNITED KINGDOM -box 8B - I don't remember this in the previous application, could anyone advise what would be the "good reasons" they expect? I have a permanent job - does this help show intention to settle in the UK? I have parental responsibility for my child who is British citizen - is it good enough?
Thank you very much
