Schengen visa with maiden name

Hello,

I need an urgent help. My wife who has Schengen visa issued last year on her Indian Passport with maiden name and this visa is valid up to May 2019 but recently we applied new passport for her and changed name in the passport to married name.

As a result, would she be able to travel to European countries with the old passport and Schengen visa which was issued on maiden name or does she need to apply new visa on married name?

Your help will be greatly appreciated in this matter.

Old passport with visa + marriage certificate (showing both names) + new passport should work.

Schengen countries can not impose a requirement to have a valid visa in a certain passport:

What country are you planning on visiting?
