Certificate of Naturalization Amendment

My wife has been informed by the passport office that she needs to get her certificate of naturalization amended as the name UKVI has always used for her is wrong. UKVI always followed her passport which has a format of middle names first then forename, she explained this to them when she originally applied for entry clearance in a cover note but they ignored it and always used her middle name first. The passport office actually did the right thing and checked a database of passport formats and realized the error from UKVI and have requested she gets it amended before her passport can be issued. I spoke to the yesterday regarding this and they have informed me how to apply to get this changed but stated there is not time scale for this amendment to be considered.

Has anyone else had to have their certificate amended and know how long it takes for this to be done?
