Schengen Visa Refused (Tourist - Honeymoon)

Post by mangtani » Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:09 am

From Mumbai. India.
We applied for Switzerland visa. Embassy refused. Said ' the information submitted regarding the justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not reliable'.

Please help. Shall we re-apply as said by all travel agents.

OR Embassy 'call-centre' executives say 'Appeal' against the decision. But process takes 8-12 weeks which we can't afford.

Anyone faced something similar for honeymoon visit.

Your options as I see it:

1. Appeal with evidence justifying your claim
2. Re-apply to the Swiss embassy with additional documents to prove intention
3. Apply to another embassy with different plans (bookings), and more enough documentation to prove your intentions

I'd personally appeal and definitely try to prove my intentions by supplying more evidence as requested.
If you won't do option 1 however, I'd suggest option 3.

Thanks Caravel88

Appeal takes a processing time of 08-12 months as per the embassy. And we do not have that much time as our travel plans are approaching in 05 weeks.

Re-applying is the best option in that case I think.

We only have plans in Switzerland. So applying to another embassy will also not be helpful.

If you give us the full list of documents you provided, and the copy of the exact text in the refusal letter, we may be able to help you with what else you could provide in the next application.

Either way best of luck to you. Indians make the best tourists :) Go get it!
