Claiming Benefits

Post by wentots » Thu Jun 14, 2018 1:37 am

Hello,

I am a british citizen via naturalisation and my wife is on spouse visa, last week we received our son’s british passport after 3 months of waiting and will be joining us soon.

I am currently working full time 48 hours a week and my wife 36 hours a week but will be reduced to 24 hours once our baby is here.

We are currently living with my parents and planning to move out soon and apply for council house or rent.

I would like to ask a few questions,

•What benefits am I entitled to?
•Does claiming benefits affect my wife’s spouse visa extension?
•Does getting a council house affect my wife’s visa extension?

Also I have a bad credit history, If we claim on both of our names will it affect her credit record?

Thank you,

Kevin
