IELTS Test from 6 years ago

Post by greegiecee » Mon Jun 18, 2018 11:01 am

Referring to Q6 in the post below:
indefinite-leave-to-remain/faqs-english ... 93792.html

My question is, I sat an IELTS test in 2012 when I applied for my first Tier 2 visa. When I renewed my visa in 2015 they accepted the same test and I didn't need to provide any other proof. Now, I am applying for ILR and I am confused if they will accept it or not. It is the required level and a recognised test centre, but is obviously 5.5 years old now. Do I need to sit a whole new test?

Thanks

If you used it before and the test and that center are still on list, the old test certificate will be accepted

Please double-check on this OP.

I sat an IELTS exam 5 years back, and used the same certificate (even though it was beyond its validity of 2 years) for renewal of my Tier 2 Visa.

However, whilst applying for ILR (which I'm in the process of doing), this result is not valid because the centre I gave the test at, is no longer in the list of approved centres.

You can access the list of approved centres here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... entres.pdf

Thank you for your reply trueblue19. My concern (similar to yours) is that I am also technically switching categories because I am moving from tier 2 to ILR via the 10 year route. I have checked on the list of approved centres and my test centre is still on the list. I wouldn't mind taking a chance if I knew they wouldn't reject the application but rather defer it until I updated it. But I don't think this is the case.
