Strange - got wife's passport but not mine as I under-paid

Applied for Naturalization for son, wife and myself via NDRS + JCAP at Maidenhead council.
Filled in the Payment section form of paper Passport application - everything was reviewed by council obv.

Passport fee, Naturalization fee and Council NDRS fee - all got deducted over next 2 days

Got approval and ceremony letter - attended ceremony.
Got 1 DX SMS and 1 HMPO SMS.

Now today, a door to door utility saving guys (guys who say they will save us money on utilities) knocked on my door and I opened the door and he handed me this DX delivery envelope asking me if its mine - he said that someone just came to your door and since I was walking towards your door - he simply handed me this and went away - how bizzare & insecure is that.

Now we open this envelope and its just my Wife's passport - I call DX and they dont answer - so I called HMPO and they pull up my wife and they say I have underpaid by £37.5 and hence mine - and my son's passport is on hold. Now I filled in the 3 passport paper forms and payment forms in a similar way with my debit card number in there - how do someone manage to underpay I dont know.

Paid £37.5 over the phone and now lets see how many days does it take.

Congratulations on getting your passport.

Check your bank statement and see how much money was deducted by HMPO for 3 passports. Remember adult passport fee is £85.00 each.

DX is normally very secure, its bazaar that they have done this.

Passport application fees went up by 12.50 for postal applications on 27 March. So presumably you filled in a form with the old amounts, but should have paid the new amounts? This would come to exactly 37.50 for three people.

But it's really weird that they decided to send the passport for your wife only. You did pay enough for two out of three passports in total. So either they should say each application is missing 12.50 and send none of the passports, or consider the total amount and send two out of three passports.

Anyway, hope it gets sorted soon now that you've paid the missing amount!
