Same Day appointment at Croydon for FLR(M), Incorrect document

Post by cbhakri » Thu Jun 28, 2018 11:29 am

Just like everyone here, firstly, I'd like to THANK YOU for your support and this forum. I can't tell you how helpful it has been.

My same-sex husband and I got our Fiancee visa. Got married and applied for a same day appointment for the FLR(M). We submitted everything and the officer came back and said that the IELTS exam certificate could not be verified as the exam was not taken at the one of the UKVI approved locations. They gave us 14 days to either dot the IELTS again OR get a letter from NARIC confirming that the degree was taught in English OR a Trinity College London certificate.

We were gob smacked as the IELTS certificate we had provided was from British Council and the exam was conducted by British Council but the location was not one of the approved ones. Anyhow, we decided to go for the Trinity College London Certificate and my partner passed the exam ans we sent the certificate to them.

It has now been over 20 days since they received the certificate and we haven't heard from them. We have tried calling the phone line on 0300 123 2241, but they say that the only option for us is to write to the Croydon office. So here are my questions:

1. Is there a way to find out that status of our application?
2. How long will they take to get back to us with their decision?
3. I was told that we are refunded if the application is not processed the same day? Is that true?

Thanks
CB
