Hi everyone
I am in a very confused situation right now and need guidance from you based on your knowledge and experience of immigration.
I would like to apply for Indefinite leave to remain in the UK ILR on the basis of 10 year long residence, however not very sure if I have qualified or not. Here is a list of my previous immigration history.
Arrived UK July 2008 as student
Stayed as a student until October 2014
Filed FLR(O) ON the basis of private life
FLR(O) refused in January 2015 with right of appeal
Appealed against FLR in Feb 2015
Hearing of the appeal set for 9 September 2015
Claimed asylum on 8 September 2015, before the hearing date
Written to the tribunal on 1st September 2015 to withdraw appeal
No response from tribunals
Reminded 2 times by my solicitor
Court decided my appeal on 29 September 2015 and refused
Carried on my asylum which was refused initially however was overturned and appeal allowed in First Tier Tribunal May 2018
Now it is end of June and it is about 10 years since I came to the UK.
I have discussed my situation with various people and most if them have different opinions.
I would like to know if my continuous residence is broken or not?
Secondly after applying for asylum can I apply under 10 year LR
I would really appreciate your comments and suggestions. It would be really helpful to me as I am seeking a confirm and definite answer in my case. It would save me a lot of money and 5 years of waiting.
Looking forward for your replies.
