Tier 2 certificate of sponsorship

I am having a certificate of sponsorship issued by my employer to extend my Tier 2 visa. Now, I have got a new job. So, I wanted to know if there is some timeline (like 24 hours) before which I should get my active COS cancelled before my new employer can issue me a new COS?

There is no timeline. The minute your current employer cancels your active CoS, your new employer can assign you a new CoS
