Hi all! What does it mean when the CAS status changes to 'used'? I checked my school portal and saw that my status has changed to 'used' instead of 'assigned'. I am a bit nervous as I just submitted my application yesterday! Does this mean a rejection?
It means an ECO has started processing your visa application

Do you happen to know roughly how long I would have to wait for a decision/get my passport back?

I can't say. You should check the processing times for your visa application centre on the Home Office website

Hi there,

Please share your timeline. We seem to be in the same boat here..
August 17th- submitted application online
August 21st- biometrics done
August 22nd- CAS changed to used

I opted only for standard- not priority- hence my surprise at the speed!

Trust me, its a good thing. My univ seems to have received my BRP but I haven't heard from UKVI or from visa office in PK land.. good luck with your application... I'm sure you'll get it.

Hi which city vfs centre did you apply? And did you get "application received at Decision making centre" email along with other emails? Thank you
I applied from Mumbai- the northern one.
I only got one email: from UKVI saying decision made.
No other emails.
Did your decision email contain the reference number or GWFXXXXXX number? Also did it contain this : "Visit http://www.gov.uk/fco for British foreign policy news and travel advice and http://blogs.fco.gov.uk to read our blogs." Thanks

So it had UKVI06/GWFXXXXXX reference number format or the reference number in the format:
UKVI06/XXXXXX ?

Also those links are in small print at the bottom of email usually.

Hey everyone. I hope you've been good.

If due to some mistakes, financial docs are not submitted and visa is denied, would an administrative review be relevant?

Admin review is for when HO has made an error. You cannot submit new evidence for AR as it is based on the documents submitted that the refusal is based on. If you failed to submit what was required, then it is your error and not HO and the refusal would then be correct

My course is starting on 10th of September and its really late already, my application was delayed because the school's international team was on leave and couldnt give me a CAS until 16 AUG or such.

They say its okay and normal for international students to come in early October, and will forward me learning materials if i miss anything. but i really dont wanna miss the first day of college, but then, better late then never.

Really tense rn, my interview and such went great and the interview was quite short, good sign (?).

My family has almost never been refused a visa and my father got his US visa in 1 day lol, idk if thats going to change anything.

I really hope we all get our visas and travel safely :D

Hello, guys!
I created this section for people who are planning to start their studies in September/October 2018 so that we can post our timelines and do the waiting game together

my timeline

Online application: 19th June
Biometrics + Interview: 22nd June
VFS SMS stating my application has been transferred to UKVI: 22nd June

since then no email, no call, no SMS.

How about you guys?
Hi wiki have u recieved reply or decision
I have done my bio metrics plus interview on 2nd July still wondering haven’t recieved text or email like u any guidance.??
Have you tried calling UKVI? they'll tell you at what stage your application is. It is better than sending an email which will take an extra 2 days to get a reply
I JUST GOT MY VISA TODAY

PLEASE WHAT IS THE UKVI CONTACT NUMBER

Hi all,

Please I'd appreciate any helpful answers to my query. I found out a while ago that my univ has received my BRP and that a visa was granted to me on august 16. Is the visa validity from aug 16 to sep 16 then? I'm unsure as I still have heard nothing from vfs or ukvi. Is the visa issued for a future date. Will I actually have one full month to prepare for my travel? I'd appreciate any response.

The date will mostly be 7 days before the date you entered in the form as your intended date of travel. So if you entered 8th September for example, then it will start on 1st Sept. However, the date cannot be earlier than 1 month before your course starts. This is mentioned in the tier 4 guidelines

If its priority then it usually takes 3-5 working days but in peak period there could be delays.

Hello guys i really need some advice here because i'm very worried. I attended my appointment on 6th August, 2018. On 12th August i received email from VISAINFO.shefo that my application has been received at the Sheffield decision making center. However on 20th August my university confirmed receipt of my BRP meaning my visa has been approved but i have received no communication concerning return of my passport with visa. TLS website tracking is still stuck at 'received by UKVI'. what could be happening, is it not normally visa before BRP? what should i do?

You should wait. The same happened to me. I found out today that my passport is ready for collection. Atleast you know now that you've got the visa, so no more agonizing waiting period. Good luck.
