Hi Everyone,
This is going to be a long one, please bear with me! In October 2017, I landed in UK (I'm Malaysian and get 6 months in UK without a visa). As I did not have a job back in Malaysia and a return ticket (I know, my mistake
), I was questioned for a long time at the counter and finally the IO let me in after speaking to my sister as I was going to be staying with her. It was a
coded landing. Now, on to my questions:
During the questioning, he asked me about my ties to Malaysia and I told him about my mum and my siblings. He asked me whether I had a boyfriend or husband in Malaysia, I said no and did not elaborate further. But, I had a fiance in UK (we have been together for 4 years at that point). I did not mention my fiance at all, I only mentioned my sister as I was actually going to be staying with her to help her with her newborn (that was the purpose of my visit).
1) Now that we are married, I am about to apply for my spouse visa next month. Will my coded landing affect my application?
2) In my landing card, I stated that I will be in UK for 5 months. When IO asked me when I will be leaving, I told him either Feb or March 2018. I left UK on the 3rd April 2018. I stayed a total of 177 days (I am given 180 days in UK). Will this be a problem?
3) We got married in Gibraltar in Dec 2017. We flew from London and when I came back after 5 days, I was allowed to enter without any problems so I got a normal stamp (not a coded one). We had planned to marry in UK but we were not able to meet the requirements for a fiance visa, so we chose to have a destination wedding in Gibraltar. Will this affect my application - the whole going out of UK and coming back in and marrying in Gibraltar? When I first entered UK in Oct 2017, the IO asked me if I was planning to travel around Europe, and I said maybe, we haven't really planned anything (which was true, there were no concrete plans at that point).
4) Does it look bad that I entered UK and did not mention about getting married (mainly cause we haven't decided the when or where) and then got married in Gibraltar?
I would really appreciate if someone could help! I am not sure if I am overthinking this, I have been so worried. Thank you so much!
